Jeff Bezos Net Worth 2026: Amazon, Blue Origin and a $369 Billion Fortune

Photo Credit: Image Press Agency / Deposit Photos

Jeff Bezos’s net worth is estimated at $369 billion as of October 2026, according to the Forbes real-time billionaires tracker, which ranks the Amazon founder second in the world. Most of that fortune sits in two places: his remaining stake of about 8% in Amazon and his ownership of the rocket company Blue Origin.

You will see very different numbers for Bezos depending on where you look. Bloomberg puts him closer to $283 billion, and the Forbes annual list in March 2026 had him at $224 billion. The biggest reason is Blue Origin, a private company with no stock price, which Forbes values at $130 billion and Bloomberg counts only at what Bezos has spent on it. The Radar Readout below lines up the published figures and shows how the $369 billion breaks down.

Confidence

Well reported. Forbes and Bloomberg both track him daily from public filings, but they value Blue Origin very differently.

How the published estimates compare

The gap is mostly Blue Origin: Forbes values the rocket company at $130 billion, while Bloomberg carries it at what Bezos has put in.

How we get to $369 billion

You vs. Jeff

At $60,000 a year, it would take you 6,150,000 years to earn Jeff’s estimated $369 billion, before tax and without spending a cent. His February 2024 sale of 24 million Amazon shares ($4 billion) equals 66,666.7 years of your pay.

Sources and how we estimated this

We use the Forbes real-time figure of $369 billion on October 26, 2026. The Amazon line is about 8% of Amazon's $2.69 trillion market value at that day's close (8.2% per Bloomberg gives the high end), Blue Origin is the Forbes valuation, and the last line is what is left of the Forbes total after those two. How Jeff Bezos’s $369 Billion Net Worth Is Built

Forbes does not publish a line-by-line breakdown, so the table below uses the pieces it does give (his 8% Amazon stake and its $130 billion Blue Origin valuation) and Amazon’s market value at the close on October 26, 2026. Whatever is left of the Forbes total covers everything else.

Because roughly three fifths of the total is Amazon stock, his net worth moves with the share price. On October 22, 2026, Forbes reported that he lost an estimated $11 billion in a single day as Amazon fell nearly 5% in a broad selloff of tech stocks tied to worries about AI spending. Even after that drop, Forbes had him at $370.4 billion that afternoon.

Amazon: From a Garage Bookstore to the Core of His Fortune

Bezos founded Amazon on July 5, 1994, in a rented garage in Bellevue, Washington, after writing the business plan on a cross country drive from New York to Seattle. The company was first called Cadabra and started out selling books online. It went public in 1997, three years after it was founded.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, he owned about 43% of Amazon at the IPO. That share has shrunk steadily through stock sales, gifts and his divorce, falling to about 14% by 2021 and to 9% in an October 2025 filing, the first time it dropped below 10%. Forbes now lists his stake at 8%, and Bloomberg cites 8.2% from a May 2026 company filing.

Bezos stepped down as chief executive in 2021. He became executive chairman on July 5, 2021, exactly 27 years after founding the company, and Andy Jassy took over as CEO. The handover did not change how his wealth is measured: the shares he kept still make up most of it.

Selling Amazon Stock

Bezos has been a steady seller of Amazon shares for years. In February 2024 he sold 24 million shares for about $4 billion and said he planned to sell 50 million shares over the following year. Celebrity Net Worth reports that he sold more than 100 million shares across 2024 and 2025, raising over $10 billion, and that his lifetime sales total at least $70 billion. Bloomberg says a large part of that cash goes to Blue Origin, which he has funded by selling about $2 billion of Amazon stock a year since 2021.

Blue Origin: The $130 Billion Question

Bezos founded Blue Origin in September 2000. Its New Shepard rocket reached 100.5 km and landed vertically in November 2015, and on July 20, 2021, Bezos flew on the first crewed New Shepard flight, NS-16, reaching 107 km in a trip that lasted 10 minutes and 18 seconds.

The company’s larger New Glenn rocket reached orbit on its first flight on January 16, 2025, though the booster was lost on descent. On the second flight, on November 13, 2025, it launched NASA’s ESCAPADE mission and landed the booster on a ship for the first time. The third flight, in April 2026, landed its booster again, but an upper stage problem left its satellite in an unusable orbit, and a booster exploded during a ground test at the launch site in late May 2026.

This is where the two big trackers part ways. Forbes estimates Blue Origin is worth $130 billion and counts it in his net worth. Bloomberg, which has no market price to use, includes the company at what Bezos has invested in it. That one choice explains most of the gap of more than $80 billion between the two figures.

The Washington Post, Investments and Other Assets

Bezos bought The Washington Post for $250 million in cash in 2013, a deal announced on August 5 and closed on October 1. Bloomberg still carries the paper at that purchase price.

Through his investment firm, Bezos Expeditions, he has backed companies well beyond Amazon. His best known early bet was a $250,000 investment in Google in 1998, which became 3.3 million shares worth about $3.1 billion by 2017. He has also invested in health and biotech companies including GRAIL, Juno Therapeutics, Unity Biotechnology, Zocdoc and Altos Labs, and in November 2025 he cofounded Project Prometheus with Vik Bajaj.

Real Estate and the Superyacht

His property portfolio is one of the largest held by any individual. Highlights reported by Wikipedia and Celebrity Net Worth include:

  • The Warner Estate in Beverly Hills, bought from David Geffen for $165 million in February 2020.
  • Three adjoining New York apartments overlooking Madison Square Park, including a penthouse, for $80 million in 2019.
  • A 14-acre estate on La Perouse Bay in Maui for $78 million in 2022.
  • Properties on Indian Creek Island near Miami, about $150 million for two neighboring homes plus $90 million for a third, revealed in 2024.
  • About 300,000 acres of ranch land in Texas, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Bloomberg also counts his superyacht Koru, launched in 2023, at about $500 million.

Divorce and Giving

Bezos and MacKenzie Scott divorced in 2019 after 25 years of marriage. Under the settlement she received a quarter of the couple’s Amazon stock, valued at about $35.6 billion at the time, while Bezos kept the other 75% and all of the voting rights. Forbes notes that he handed over a quarter of what was then a 16% stake.

In 2020 he pledged $10 billion to climate causes through the Bezos Earth Fund, to be given by 2030; Forbes says $2.4 billion has been granted so far. In 2018 he committed $2 billion to the Day 1 Fund for homelessness and preschools. He told CNN in 2022 that he plans to give away most of his wealth during his lifetime, without giving details.

Why Other Sites Say Something Different

Forbes real-time$369 billionOctober 26, 2026Live Amazon price plus a $130 billion Blue Origin valuation
Bloomberg Billionaires Index$283 billionOctober 2026Counts Blue Origin and The Washington Post at cost

The pattern is simple. Any figure that leaves out a market value for Blue Origin lands in the high $200 billions, and any figure taken months ago misses moves in Amazon stock. Forbes is the most current and the most complete, which is why we use it as our headline.

How Jeff Bezos Compares

Bezos sits in a very small club of people whose wealth is counted in hundreds of billions. For a fellow tech and rocket founder, see Elon Musk’s net worth. For billionaires who built their fortunes in sports and entertainment, compare Michael Jordan, Jay-Z, Tyler Perry, Rihanna and Taylor Swift.
