Jessie Buckley’s net worth is estimated at $5 million as of October 2026, a fortune built over almost two decades of stage, television and film work that peaked in March 2026, when she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Hamnet. The Killarney native became the first Irish winner of that award, and she also led Maggie Gyllenhaal’s big-budget Warner Bros. film The Bride! the same month.
Published estimates range from $3 million to $6 million, and none of them shows its working. Her film fees have never been reported, so our figure is a model: we start from the estimate published just before the Oscars, trim it for tax and spending, and add what she most likely kept from the work that followed her win. The Radar Readout below shows each step, the range and how sure we are.

Sources and how we estimated this
We start from the roughly $3 million estimate published before the 2026 Oscars, trim it slightly for tax and spending, then add what she most likely kept from work after her win. Because none of her fees has been reported, each of those lanes is a conservative model, counted at about 45 to 55 percent of gross pay after agents, managers, lawyers and tax. UK company filings for her firm, Alluvium Entertainment Ltd, show modest net assets and are used only as a cross-check. How we fact-check

From I’d Do Anything to RADA and the West End
Buckley first reached a national audience in 2008 on the BBC talent show I’d Do Anything. She finished second behind Jodie Prenger, then made her Off-West End debut in A Little Night Music at the Menier Chocolate Factory.
She went on to train at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in January 2013, and spent the next few years building a classical stage career. That included a season at Shakespeare’s Globe, Henry V in the West End opposite Jude Law, and Perdita in Kenneth Branagh’s The Winter’s Tale in 2015. Stage work rarely pays like film, so this period did more for her reputation than for her bank balance.
Wild Rose, Chernobyl and a Run of Screen Roles
Television opened the door to bigger paychecks. She played Marya Bolkonskaya in the BBC’s War & Peace in 2016, then appeared in Taboo with Tom Hardy. Her film debut came in Beast in 2017, and her breakthrough followed with Wild Rose, in which she played an aspiring country singer. The role earned her a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and she sang on the film’s 2019 soundtrack.
The next two years were her busiest. She appeared in HBO and Sky’s Chernobyl and in Judy in 2019, then in Dolittle, The Courier, Misbehaviour, I’m Thinking of Ending Things and the fourth season of Fargo in 2020. Supporting roles in studio films and prestige TV pay steadily but not spectacularly, which is why published estimates of her wealth stayed in the low millions.
The Lost Daughter, Cabaret and Music
The Lost Daughter brought Buckley her first Academy Award nomination, for Best Supporting Actress, along with a BAFTA nomination and a Gotham Award win. In November 2021 she opened as Sally Bowles in Cabaret in the West End, a role that won her the 2022 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
She also has a music career. In June 2022 she released For All Our Days That Tear the Heart with former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler. The album debuted at No. 23 on the UK Albums Chart and was shortlisted for the 2022 Mercury Prize. Album sales of that size add prestige more than money, so we fold music into the “other work” lane rather than treating it as a major income source.
Her film work continued with Men and Women Talking in 2022, then Wicked Little Letters with Olivia Colman and Fingernails in 2023.
Hamnet and the 2026 Best Actress Oscar
Hamnet, directed by Chloé Zhao from a screenplay she wrote with Maggie O’Farrell, cast Buckley as Agnes, the wife of William Shakespeare, who grieves the death of their 11-year-old son. Steven Spielberg and Sam Mendes were among the producers, and Focus Features released the film in the US, with a limited opening on November 26, 2025 and a wide release on December 5.
Made for a reported $30 million to $35 million, Hamnet grossed about $109 million worldwide and won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Buckley swept the season’s main acting prizes: the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama, the BAFTA for Best Actress in a Leading Role, the Critics’ Choice award and the Actor Award for a leading female performance.
At the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, she won Best Actress ahead of Rose Byrne, Kate Hudson, Renate Reinsve and Emma Stone. It was Hamnet’s only win from eight nominations. Ireland’s President, Catherine Connolly, called it “an historic moment” in a statement the next morning. Her Hamnet fee has not been reported. Because the film was a mid-budget independent production, we assume most of her pay was already reflected in the pre-Oscar estimate and add only a modest modeled amount for any residual or back-end income.
The Bride! and What Comes Next
Nine days before the Oscars, Warner Bros. released The Bride!, written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Buckley plays the title role, a woman brought back from the dead, opposite Christian Bale as the creature. It carried a budget reported at $80 million to $90 million but grossed only about $24 million worldwide, and it was labeled a box office bomb. Her salary was never published, and the film’s results make large bonuses unlikely, so we do not add a separate lane for it.
After her win, she moved straight on to new work. The Three Incestuous Sisters, Alice Rohrwacher’s adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s novel, was scheduled to start filming in April 2026, with Dakota Johnson, Saoirse Ronan and Josh O’Connor also in the cast. In May 2026, she was announced for Hold On to Your Angels, a Benh Zeitlin drama with Paul Mescal. She also sings a duet with Hozier on 20th Century Paddy, a Shane MacGowan tribute album due on November 13, 2026.
An Oscar usually lifts an actor’s asking price, but none of these deals has a reported figure. We therefore model her take-home pay from The Three Incestuous Sisters at $1 million and the rest of her 2026 work at $800,000, each with a wide range.
Her Company: What the UK Filings Show
Buckley is the director of Alluvium Entertainment Ltd, a private company incorporated in England and Wales in January 2021. Its filings at Companies House do not describe its business and do not include a profit and loss account, but they do show its balance sheet. Net assets were £85,256 at January 31, 2022, £236,927 at March 31, 2023, £250,859 at March 31, 2024 and £242,567 at March 31, 2025.
Those numbers cover only what was left inside the company on each date, not what she was paid personally, so they are not a measure of her net worth. They do suggest that her savings before Hamnet were in the range of a working actor rather than a film star, which supports starting from the lower pre-Oscar estimate.
Why Other Sites Say $3 Million or $6 Million
| Source | Figure | Date | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Celebrity Net Worth | $6 million | Updated March 16, 2026 | Raised after the Oscars; no fees or property listed |
| Social Life Magazine | $3 million | March 12, 2026 | Cites Celebrity Net Worth’s figure at the time |
| Net Worth Radar | $5 million | October 26, 2026 | Modeled from the pre-Oscar figure plus 2026 work |
The gap between $3 million and $6 million comes almost entirely from how much weight each figure gives the Oscar. Our model sits between them: it counts the award as a real boost to her earning power, but only for work that has actually been announced since March.
