Max Verstappen’s net worth is estimated at $220 million as of October 2026, built mostly on one of the biggest salaries in Formula 1. The four-time world champion has raced for Red Bull teams since his 2015 debut, and in August 2026 he extended his contract with the team to the end of 2030.
Published estimates for Verstappen run from $200 million to $280 million, because no one publishes his assets and each site makes its own assumptions about taxes, spending and investments. What is well reported is his pay: Forbes puts his yearly earnings in the $76 million to $86 million range. The Radar Readout below shows how the published figures compare and how we got to our number.

Sources and how we estimated this
We start from the $200 million Celebrity Net Worth figure of December 2025 and trim it slightly for spending. We then add what he most likely kept from 10 months of 2026 pay, using Forbes figures of a $65 million base salary and about $8 million a year off the track, and assuming he keeps 45 to 55 percent after tax and costs. His GT team, homes and jet are not valued separately because no figures are published. How we fact-check

How Max Verstappen’s $220 Million Net Worth Is Built
There is no verified figure for Verstappen’s wealth, so we built one from the bottom up. We took the most widely cited older estimate, trimmed it a little, and added what he most likely kept from his 2026 pay so far.
| Part of the fortune | Our central figure | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Starting fortune, late 2025 (Celebrity Net Worth’s $200 million, trimmed) | $190 million | $175 million to $205 million |
| 2026 Red Bull salary and bonuses kept, January to October | $27 million | $24 million to $31 million |
| 2026 sponsorship income kept, January to October | $3 million | $2 million to $4 million |
| Total | $220 million | $201 million to $240 million |
The salary line assumes he keeps about 45 to 55 percent of what Red Bull pays him once tax, management and other costs are taken out. The sponsorship line uses the $8 million a year that Forbes counts as his off-track income. We did not add a separate value for his GT racing team, his reported private jet or his cars, because no reliable figures exist for them. If those holdings are worth more than we assume, the true number sits toward the top of our range.
The Red Bull Contract and His Salary
Verstappen’s main income has always been his Red Bull deal. In March 2022 he signed a five-year extension covering 2023 to 2028. On August 20, 2026, ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, Red Bull announced that he had extended again, this time to the end of 2030. The financial terms were not disclosed, though Crash.net noted the new deal is likely to push his earnings figures up.
Reports say the old contract included performance clauses that could have let him leave early, and there was speculation during 2026 about interest from McLaren and Mercedes. McLaren’s Zak Brown denied there was an opening. Verstappen himself said he had been closer to retiring than to changing teams. If he completes the new deal he will have spent 15 seasons with Red Bull, the longest driver and team pairing in F1 history.
Forbes has tracked his pay for years. For 2022 it estimated his F1 earnings at $60 million, including $20 million in bonuses, which made him the sport’s highest-paid driver. For 2025 Forbes put him top again at $76 million, made up of about $65 million in base salary and about $11 million in bonuses. Lewis Hamilton was second at $70.5 million and Lando Norris third at $57.5 million.
Forbes Highest-Paid Athletes Ranking
On the Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid athletes published in May 2026, which covers the 12 months to May 1, 2026, Verstappen ranked 14th with $86 million. Forbes split that into $78 million on the track and $8 million off it, according to Crash.net’s report of the figures.
That off-track number is small for an athlete of his profile. Lewis Hamilton, who made the Forbes top 10 at $100 million, earned an estimated $30 million of that away from racing. Verstappen’s fortune is therefore built far more on his racing salary than on endorsements, which is one reason his net worth is easier to model than that of many stars.
Four World Titles and the 2026 Season
Verstappen made his F1 debut in 2015 with Toro Rosso, Red Bull’s second team, at 17, and he is still the youngest driver to start a Formula 1 race. He won the world championship four years in a row, in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. In 2025 he finished second in a three-way title fight, two points behind the champion.
The 2026 season, with new chassis and engine rules, has been much harder. Red Bull started the year with its own power unit, built by Red Bull Ford Powertrains, and Mercedes set the pace. Verstappen went the whole first part of the season without a win, and he complained about how much the new cars rely on electrical power. By late September he had seven podiums and sat sixth in the championship with 163 points.
The breakthrough came on October 4, 2026, at the Bahrain Grand Prix, held that year at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. Starting from pole in a rain-delayed race, he dropped behind the two Mercedes cars at the start, took the lead back and held it through late Safety Car periods. It was his 72nd career win and the first win for the Red Bull Ford power unit.
Sponsorships and Endorsements
Verstappen’s best-known personal partner is Heineken. In February 2023 the brewer signed him as an ambassador for its alcohol-free Heineken 0.0 and its “When You Drive, Never Drink” campaign, including a sim racing project called Player 0.0. Dutch reports said the deal runs until 2029. Heineken declined to discuss the money involved.
He has also been linked with EA Sports, and European Business Magazine lists TAG Heuer among his partners. The Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo backed him from his karting days until that deal ended after 2023. Taken together, Forbes puts his off-track income at about $8 million a year, which is the figure we use in our model.
Verstappen.com Racing and Other Assets
Away from F1, Verstappen owns a GT racing team, Verstappen.com Racing. In 2025 it raced an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and won the Gold Cup class of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with Chris Lulham and Thierry Vermeulen. For 2026 the team switched to Mercedes-AMG on a multi-year deal, with its entry run by 2Seas Motorsport and drivers including Lulham, Dani Juncadella and Jules Gounon. Verstappen also won an NLS race on the Nurburgring Nordschleife in September 2025 in a Ferrari 296 GT3. No financial details of the team have been published.
Celebrity Net Worth reports that he rents a Monte Carlo penthouse and that in 2020 he bought a Falcon 900EX private jet, said to have come from Richard Branson, worth about 12 million pounds. These reports are unconfirmed, so we do not add them as separate assets in our estimate.
Why Other Sites Say $200 Million to $280 Million
| Source | Figure | Date | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Celebrity Net Worth | $200 million | December 2025 | Predates his 2026 earnings and new contract |
| European Business Magazine | $250 million | June 2026 | Its own estimate; says most trackers sit between $200 million and $260 million |
| PlanetF1 | $210 million | August 2026 | Described as a reported figure, with no source named |
| Crash.net | $210 million to $280 million | August 2026 | Range before his contract extension |
| Net Worth Radar | $220 million | October 2026 | Model based on Forbes pay figures |
The spread comes down to two things. First, nobody knows how much of his salary he has invested and how those investments have done. Second, estimates made before 2026 miss most of a year of pay worth well over $60 million before tax. Our figure sits in the middle of the pack because we only count what is reported.
How Max Verstappen Compares
