50 Cent’s net worth likely reached well over $100 million before his personal wealth took a major hit that eventually led to a bankruptcy filing. It’s now estimated that the rapper is worth $40 million.

While 50 Cent has sold millions of records and performed to sold-out audiences, it was his business savvy that massively increased his net worth. He’s also earned from film and television appearances, brand sponsorships, and more.

50 Cent’s Net Worth Is Owed Largely To Vitamin Water

50 Cent made the sponsorship deal of a lifetime in 2004 when he launched his own line of grape-flavored drinks called Formula 50 in partnership with Glaceau.

The famous rapper was given an undisclosed minority stake in Vitamin Water, and the company eventually sold to Coca-Cola for an estimated $4 billion in 2007.

It has been estimated that 50 Cent made $100 million from the deal, although other reports have suggested that number was closer to $60 million.

Effen Vodka Added To 50 Cent’s Net Worth

Investing in spirits has been lucrative for many celebrities in recent years, and 50 Cent is no exception. He became one of the world’s richest rappers, thanks in part to the sale of his stake in Effen Vodka.

In 2017, he reportedly sold his stake for $60 million, it was a considerable payday considering his relationship with Effen Vodka had only begun in 2014.

50 Cent announced his earnings from the Holland-based liquor brand on his Instagram, where he wrote, “I got the bag, EFFEN Vodka. Can you say 60M’s since they like counting my money DO THE MATH. Lol.”

Beverages have certainly proven to be a big boost for 50 Cent’s net worth.

Sire Spirits Is 50 Cent’s Newest Business Play

50 Cent‘s Sire Spirits brand is more proof that the famous rapper has built quite the beverage empire for himself. 50 Cent’s Branson Cognac and Le Chemin Du Roi Champagne are growing in popularity, and by May 2023, he had secured deals with several NBA arenas, including the Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, Houston Rockets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The rapper plans to bring Sire Spirits to all 40 NBA arenas.

According to Forbes, the Astros celebrated their 4-1 World Series win over the Philadelphia Phillies, $388,000 worth of the rapper’s champagne.

50 Cents $10 Million Tweet

In 2011 a single tweet earned 50 Cent $10 million. The rapper told his fans they should invest in H&H Imports. It turns out he was the owner of 12% of the company at the time, and the stock quickly saw its value skyrocket based on the rapper’s suggestion.

H & H Imports has “one of the 15 products this year. If you get in technically, I work for you. BIG MONEY,” he wrote in his tweet. The rapper then revealed, “Stock went from 5 cent to 10 in one day. You can double your money right now. Just get what you can afford.” In the two days following 50 Cents tweet, a total of 9.24 million shares were traded, and the company’s value increased tenfold, according to The Guardian.

His Rap Career Has Earned 50 Cent Millions Of Dollars

When 50 Cent was just getting started, he earned a $65,000 signing bonus with Columbia Records. It was big money for the rapper, but his contract was abandoned after he was the victim of a shooting in 2000, and his debut studio album “Power of the Dollar” was never released.

50 Cent would discover a better path when Marshall Mathers (Eminem) signed him to the Shady Records label in a deal worth $1 million.

50 Cent would go on to drop the album “Get Rich or Die Trying,” which sold 12 million copies worldwide and was certified 9x Platinum.

50 Cents Concert Touring Income

50 Cent earned $80,000 per concert in his early days, and that number increased to as much as $1 million once his star rose.

“I’m getting like $900,000, $1 million,” the 47-year-old star told Billboard recently. “The coolest thing we create in America is celebrities.”

It’s a massive amount of money to pay a rapper who hasn’t released a new album in more than a decade.

Millions More From TV and Movies

50 Cent has proven himself to be a capable actor and producer. His hit Starz series Power has three spin-offs, including “Power Book II: Ghost” and “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” both of which set record viewership figures for Starz.

When “Power Book IV: Force” debuted on February 6, 2011, it became 50 Cent’s eighth TV show to hit screens in under a decade.

Given the six successful seasons of the first Power series and the subsequent spin-offs, it’s likely 50 Cent’s net worth received an additional boost in the millions from his worth on the show.

50 Cent also told CNBC that he earned $10 million per movie that he starred in and produced. 50 Cent made that money by starting Cheetah Vision, a production studio that he raised $200 million in financing to run. As 50 Cent explained to CNBC, he met people during his travels who were willing to invest, and then he made low-budget movies that ensured he could pay himself a hefty sum.

That type of mindset is pretty commonplace in the days of Netflix. Just think about Adam Sandler’s net worth and how much of that is owed to his massive Netflix deals that typically center around low-budget but popular movies.

50 Cents Biggest Name Brand Deals To Date

  • Reebok (2003 to 2008): The rapper signed a 5-year deal to sell his G-Unit Sneakers
  • Vitamin Water: Spokesman and minority owner.
  • Right Guard: He launched the body spray Pure 50 RGX and endorsed Magic Stick condoms.
  • Steiner Sports (2007): 50 Cent signed a multi-year deal to sell his memorabilia via the company.

50 Cent has had other brand partnerships over the years, some of them more lucrative than others and some that had potential but fell flat. Most notable was the $78 million deal the rapper signed in 2014 with FRIGO Revolution Wear to promote men’s underwear. The company closed down within a few years, and it’s unclear how much of that $78 million was paid to 50 Cent before the company went belly up.

50 Cent may not be anywhere close to being in the top 10 list of the world’s richest rappers these days, but he’s certainly proven himself to be a capable businessman, TV producer, actor, and of course, a best-selling rapper. While he may have lost a lot of money over his career, his current alcohol business, his $1 million concert appearances, and his strong TV resume likely mean his $40 million net worth will continue to rise.
